The fact that our government is not only allowing, but pushing through the expansion of the Alberta oil sands and the building of Enbridge pipelines is insanity. Insanity ? Or greed? Same thing.

Perhaps they will hear the voices of the people and come to their senses.

another example of Canadian Government Hypocrisy ....

To see that the Royal Canadian Mint is promoting the circulation of a special two dollar coin, aka twoonie to "celebrate" our "legendary" boreal forest while Harper and Enbridge push forward the expansion of the Alberta Oil sands and the building of the Northern Gateway pipeline is hypocrisy at top level. Thousands of hectares of boreal forest have already been destroyed with the potential of 740,000 more hectares of sacred boreal forest on the block if the projected expansion of the Alberta Oil sands is met over the next decade.

Perhaps as Canadians we can use these special twoonies to support a political party that truly has our country's best interest at heart or support groups that are doing their best to protect our environment and prevent projects such as Enbridge's Northern Gateway Pipeline.

...or perhaps if we pool our special twoonies we can buy back Harper's soul for he surely must have sold it to risk the environment of our beautiful country . Our forests, our rivers, our watersheds, our wildlife, our coastline, our well being, are all at risk in the name of a " healthy economy" aka money... pieces of paper that come from the trees in the first place...

Royal Canadian Mint Introduces New Two-Dollar Circulation Coin Celebrating Canada's Boreal Forest Back to Listing

Ottawa, Ontario, November 1, 2011 – The Royal Canadian Mint is pleased to inform Canadians they can soon start collecting a new 2011 two-dollar circulation coin honouring Canada's boreal forest. This coin which has now entered circulation was preceded by a one-dollar circulation coin dedicated to the centennial of Parks Canada in October 2011 and will be followed in early 2012 by a trio of 25-cent coins featuring the Orca, Wood Bison and Peregrine Falcon. All five of these special circulation coins are inspired by the theme of "our legendary nature"; a fixture of Canadian pride and identity.

"The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to help Canadians celebrate their country's legendary natural heritage with five new commemorative circulation coins honouring our great outdoors and a century of nature conservation by Parks Canada," said Ian E. Bennett, President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint.
